Sheila specializes in plain language copyediting, copy-cutting and layout review for clarity and readability. Her creative communications strategies and innovative resourcing save money and get the job done!

She gained national and regional experience during 40 years working in the private sector, the not-for-profit community, and in the federal government working for many years on issues specific to youth, women, Aboriginal People and immigrants.

Her expertise includes social justice issues, language and literacy, adult learning, advertising and public relations, employment, immigration, community development, the performing arts, volunteer management, festivals and special events.

She received an IABC Capitale AIPC Excel Award for Features and Editorial Writing (2000).

Ms. Flanagan McCarthy, a clear and dynamic communicator, was an invaluable resource when Sheila managed the Editorial and Language Division of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada. Sheila is delighted to now be part of the team at McCarthy Media Group.
